I am going to modify this review because, frankly, I am calling on ACE Handyman a lot and, if I post an update every time they help me, I'm going to write a book. Last February I was putting a lot of finishing touches on a house I expected to live in for years. Some of those finishing touches involved working on high ladders and carrying heavy furniture up and down stairs. When the work has an element of danger, I really want to hire someone who is insured and experienced. I know that is going to cost a little more, but I consider having the worker protected and giving myself peace of mind is worth it. So, I did some serious online research and called Ace Handyman Services. Meagan and Ashley explained the whole hourly rate process to me very carefully and clearly. Then, with my approval, she scheduled service for next day service. The next day was a great success. Since then I have brought ACE back several times. Oh, and I moved and started working on another house that needs a LOT of finishing touches (I got a chance to move close to family so the house I expected to live in for years is now on the market). Mike and Dan and Jason-1 and Jason-2 and Wilson have helped me on different projects. They are all experienced professionals with glowing good attitudes. They listen to what I ask them to do and ask questions meant to ensure they understand completely. They offer suggestions if they know a better way to accomplish my goal. They work hard and as fast as they can while keeping safety in mind. If I have questions they make sure I understand the answer. I am a very happy repeat customer of ACE Handyman Services Upstate South Carolina.
Very disappointed in the service we received. Before accepting the quote I asked multiple times to make sure we were getting someone who was experienced at sanding and refinishing a stained floor and they said they did. I guess they didn’t have that guy come. The guy they sent had to go talk to people at Lowe’s and Sherwin-Williams about staining and then call the guy that was supposedly experienced at it to ask questions and advice on it. So now having to pay for all those wasted hours for a terrible job
Ron was very nice and explained the process of what he was doing to get our gas logs going. He had to order a part for the repair and quickly came back out when the part arrived. He came in and immediately went to work and we now have the gas logs going and our den has the warmth as well as the glow of the gas logs. I would definitely call Ace Handyman Service again and also for some other things that needs to be done around our house. It was a very positive experience.
Working with the office to schedule an appointment to look at the job was easy. I gave them all the information they needed to know for the scope of work that I had requested. They told me a general estimate and Jason arrived at the scheduled time. Once there, he informed me that he did not have all the necessary equipment or materials to complete the job. I paid the $99 consult fee and waited on a quote from the company. After a week I reached back out to see what the hold up was for getting a quote. They told me they were having a tough time resourcing the materials. Finally, I receive a quote for the work to be done. They had found the material to get the job completed. It was a good bit higher than previously thought. Regardless the work needed to be done. We scheduled a time, then I got a call back to reschedule for an earlier time. Great. The appointment time comes and they are running behind, reason, they had to find the materials for the job??? They show up about 30 minutes later than expected, not a huge deal. In the meantime, while they were working I had to run an errand to get paint for them to going the job. They estimated three hours for two people and it ended up taking an hour even with me running to Lowe’s to get paint. After cleaning up, putting tools away securing ladders and chatting, it ended up being maybe two hours. They discounted the final invoice a little. The two workers, Jason and Ron were easy to work to with but I must say getting everything lined up and scheduled was not an easy process. The estimating was frustrating. I understand this was a difficult job to repair a hole in wood siding 25’ up the face of the house but it was just frustrating. After completion I still have not received photos to show the work completed and what the final looks like.
I had Ben Humanes as the craftsman to remove and replace the shutters on my house. Ben was on time and was very professional and has a great personality. Ben took pride in his work. Ben cleaned up after himself too. Me and my wife was very pleased with the Job Ben done. Ben also clean my gutters which I was very appreciative of. If I could give more than five stars I would. I will be reaching back out to Ace Handyman Services for future Jobs.
