KDS did a great job building a large composite deck and pergola in our backyard! Troy was great to work with and very accommodating. They were meticulous about making sure that all of the drainage was taken care of before they started the project. And while they had the equipment and team out they took care of all of the other drainage issues in my yard. The deck looks amazing and we are constantly getting compliments from all of the neighbors. It is very nice to work with people who have real pride in their work. When the deck was complete Troy and Adam came out to inspect everything - apparently there were some small imperfections I had not noticed and they came back out with their crew and pulled up all the decking and relayed it so that it met their standard. Right before KDS started on the deck there was a big storm at our house which caused water to come pouring through the ceiling in our kitchen - 2 days before we had family coming into town to stay with us. Troy got a team out to our house to diagnose and fix the leak, then he found a painter and dry wall person to come over and repair the ceiling for us. Neither my wife nor I could get off work so Troy came over and worked from our house so we didn’t have to let a stranger work out of our house while nobody was here. The guy did a great job and none of our family knew that a day before there was a huge hole in our ceiling. Can’t recommend KDS enough!!! We are planning to add additional pergolas and a large outdoor fire place and we will definitely be using KDS to do the work!

Troy and his team at KDS are the highest quality people you can ever expect to work with. They changed out my return fences with gates and ripped out my existing deck and pergola and replaced them with an incredible new design. The deck was craftily built from composite decking with a definitive flair from an artistic eye. The pergola was built using the best cedar and beams. The return fences were changed out to include 5 ft gates board on board with a top cap and kick boards. They put on 5 hinges on each gate to ensure there would be no sag in the gate. They ran into many issues with the deck and the ground prep including sprinkler pipe leaking all of which they worked through admirably. Their pricing was above board, honest, and fair. They worked with me to deliver the documents needed for my HOA, which is Stonebridge in McKinney. They always look at their work and make sure it's the highest quality and I can't recommend Troy and the team at KDS enough! I installed the electrical work(lights, fan, plugs, and wire runs), but KDS ran the wires under the deck and had it prepped for me to run the wires everywhere else and put on the fan block for me to install the fan. I can't tell you how much I have already enjoyed the deck and pergola!

We Had some other construction projects regarding our pool remodel,and pool surround deck in process,while we were collecting bids for the replacement of our wooden deck. We went through about 7- to 11 contractors before we felt comfortable that KDS was the team we wanted to accomplish the Task. Troy and his team had a talent for overcoming obstacles as they arose,such as accommodating a solution for Drainage beneath the structure,building over a concrete patio,and the proximity to the ground. This is a two level deck,with a 5 inch separation of elevation over 18 feet wide by 23 deep (430 Sq Ft.) This structure is constructed to last,and is extremely Robust. We also had him construct an Arbor/Pergola of some very beautiful Rough Cut cedar,with shade runners and a Polygal topping for UV and rain protection. Both the deck and the Pergola are integrated,and stained/sealed with the same natural cedar product. While his bid was not the lowest bid,it was well worth the money,because the finished product was exactly what we wanted,and the other contractors either would not build our deck like we wanted it,or,it was never going to look as good as this one for the price. This is my fourth project using KDS Builders and Adam Simmons. I began working with Adam in 2016. The projects included i) a patio cover that tied into my roof; ii) installing a connecting cover and installing new windows that allowed for a panoramic view of the backyard; iii) interior lights and part kitchen remodel; and iv) new LP Smartsiding and gutters. I continue to use KDS because of their quality and service. They insist on doing it the right way and do not take shortcuts. There have been times where a job needs a slight adjustment, for whatever reason, they listen and come up with a solution. I knew I could rely on KDS when there was a leak in the ceiling as they took their time trying to identify the cause and were not concerned about payment for their time. Ultimately, the leak was due to the old siding, which they later replaced. This task was not easy due to poor construction and they were able to deliver high quality finish. KDS will also sub-contract and my experience with their sub-contractors is the same. On the fourth project, they used Alliance Rain Gutters, LLC out of Fort Worth. These guys operate the same way. Prompt quality service at a reasonable price. Their gutters perfectly matched our house color and were of high quality. The install job was perfect and they tied in a gutter drain pipe to an existing drain pipe (PVC pipe that drains to street). After a walk-thru, I asked for the gutters to extend further into the PVC drain pipe. They called the crew back, fixed it, and it was a high quality fix. They never complained, questioned, or argued. Their gutter install put the finishing touch on the exterior remodel and framed out the house well. Again, I would highly recommend Alliance Rain Gutters, LLC. KDS has consistently met my high expectations and as a result, we are in the process of biding a front entrance cover and patio cement work. This will be our fifth project! Last, Troy in customer relations is great and responsive and focuses on quality and customer satisfaction. He is an asset to KDS. This is a local company that does not disappear when the job is done. They do not expect to get paid because a job was done. They earn the right to get paid because a job was well done. This is a real review. We had KDS do a roof assessment and replacement on our home a year and a half ago. I really enjoyed working with Troy and his crew. I found him to be knowledgeable, straight-forward, and friendly; a consummate professional. He and his crew took the time to explain things and address any questions or concerns. He was even able to provide an impact-resistant roof within our budget, which got me a discount on my home insurance. His crew was respectful and fast. They kept a clean work-site. I do my own yard-work and have found virtually zero construction debris in my yard. The roof looks amazing and is holding up great. We have had zero leaks nor lost shingles and we have weathered some strong storms!
