If you value your time and money, avoid this place. I joined because I had recently moved to Cape Coral and there were very few alternatives available, but it ended up being one of the most disappointing fitness experiences I’ve had. I have many years of experience in different sports and have practiced Pilates for quite some time, so I know what a quality class should look like. Unfortunately, the classes here are repetitive, uninspiring, and lack any real progression. Week after week, it felt like I was doing the same workout with little thought put into challenging members or helping them improve. Despite attending consistently, I saw virtually no results and rarely felt like I had completed an effective workout. The programming feels watered down and designed more to fill class slots than to deliver a meaningful Pilates experience. What made matters worse was the attitude of some of the instructors. Several came across as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere that made the experience even more frustrating. I ultimately canceled my membership because I couldn’t justify paying premium prices for classes that were boring, ineffective, and poorly managed. There are far better ways to spend your money if you’re serious about fitness or Pilates.
I was a member of this studio for 3 years. The good- some of the instructors, especially the tenured ones, are great. Pilates itself is an awesome workout, I can’t say enough about how much I love it. The bad- the cost, the inflexibility. When I joined in 2023, the price I paid for an unlimited monthly membership was $229. That same membership is now $259. PER MONTH. If you’re someone that can’t go several times a week, you’ll end up feeling guilty and like you’re wasting your money. And if you have something pop up outside the 12 hour cancellation window, you’ll either be charged an additional $15 or $25 depending on if you call or not. Apparently just cancelling through the app doesn’t count as giving notice and you’ll get hit with a $25 fine. There are other class options outside the unlimited, but those are pricey as well. I’m sincerely hoping with more Pilates studios popping up, the cost of memberships will be driven down a bit to make it more affordable and accessible, as it is a great workout and so good for your body. But due to the costs and commitment, I couldn’t get any of my friends or family to sign up in the 3 years I was there.
I'm a newbie to Pilates. The folks at Club Pilates/Cape Coral West are great! Very welcoming and informative. If you're looking for a great exercise experience, come on down to the CLUB!
I visit this club 2 weeks every summer and 2 weeks every winter when we vacation in Cape Coral. This club is incredibly well managed. The ladies up front and the instructors are fantastic and friendly. I take hundreds of classes annually at my home club but somehow my Pilates practice always advances under the instructors at this club. Big shout out to Bess, Karen and Tisha! They are everything you want in an instructor. Talented, knowledgeable, and push you to work hard but care for your body. There classes are challenging for sure but they somehow make the 50 minutes fly by. 5 stars isn’t enough! If you are reading this review and considering Pilates, my advice is GO! You won’t regret it. I was brand new to Pilates in Dec 2021. TBH I was hesitant at first. For someone who has never done Pilates, it can seem intimidating. But, EVERY single person at my home club (Atlanta) and this CP made me feel comfortable. I started with private classes (which was definitely the right path for me), but there are 1.0 classes for anyone new to Pilates. Update 6/28/26: I have had quite a few friends start Pilates over the last few years and one of the biggest hurdles is the waitlist process to get into class. It can be frustrating for sure, BUT the clubs do a great job of working the waitlist and I almost always get the class I want. Don't let a waitlist stop you! In the almost 5 years I have been practicing Pilates, I have transformed my body (both how it looks and how it feels). I have avoided a knee surgery and a back surgery. It’s also been great for me mentally. Give it a go!!
Club Pilates changed my life. I know that’s a dramatic statement, but it really did! I’m in my mid-forties and have never felt better. I’d say after about 30 or 40 classes, my body changed for the better. I lost my aches, pains, stiff joints, etc. I’m naturally a very shy/reserved person so a group fitness class has never appealed to me. Two years ago, however, I knew I needed to invest in my health and I just felt an unexplainable call to Club Pilates- a place I had passed many times in my everyday travels. The rest is history! I’ve been a member for 2+ years and have such mental and physical clarity! Try the free 30 minute intro class! What do you have to lose? Maybe it’s not for you and that’s ok….. but maybe it is…. The possibilities are endless!
