Very disappointing experience celebrating my birthday here. My boyfriend and I came two years ago for our anniversary and had a great experience, so this visit was shocking. We both work in five-star luxury hospitality, so we understand the level of service and attention expected from fine dining restaurants. We arrived well before closing and were immediately greeted with, “Well, y’all made it in time,” which already felt unwelcoming. After taking our order, our server disappeared for most of the night and only returned after dessert, despite the restaurant having only a few tables and one larger party that had already finished dinner service. Ironically, the manager attended to us for most of the evening, yet when we addressed the lack of service, his only response was that the server was “busy,” showing no accountability or concern. The food quality has also noticeably gone downhill. When we mentioned concerns about how certain dishes tasted, the manager dismissed it by saying, “That’s how it’s supposed to be.” That pasta was definitely rushed. It was not ready to be served. However, the manager told us “We cook that way.” To make things worse, my boyfriend had informed the hostess beforehand that it was my birthday and asked the server to do something small or special, but that was forgotten as well. When we reminded him, he said “give me a minute, I didn’t forget.” and rushed back to the kitchen. At the very end, our server casually brought out cotton candy with sparkles and said, “Here we go princess, happy birthday.” Overall, the service, management, and food quality no longer reflect the fine dining experience this restaurant once offered, and sadly we won’t be returning anytime soon.
This place has a very nice atmosphere and an exceptionally friendly, active staff. The service was great overall. The food was solid and good quality, but I wasn’t blown away—especially given the prices. Cocktails were $19 each, which felt steep; at even $15 I probably would have ordered two or more. I tried the clam weekly special, which tasted good but was disappointingly small for $43. While the quality is definitely there, it just wasn’t worth the price for me.
We were here for a dinner birthday party on Sunday night , a group of almost 20 people but the way they accommodated us was really good . The service was so responsive , active and very fast . The food was pretty good . For vegetarians the funghi pizza is a must try . We ordered funghi , cheese , pepperoni , all the pizzas were good . We ordered pizzas , pasta and tried oven roasted chicken,pastas are so fresh and good we loved their Alfredo . Everything tasted good .For starters we ordered the shrimp which was really fresh , mozzarella cheese and spicy roasted chickpeas all were good .No disappointment.One of the good Italian restaurants in Houston , will definitely comeback pleasant ambience. We had really good time here . Food was good , ambience is elegant and service was so attentive . Their chocolate cake dessert is a must try it was really good . Cotton candy was a cool idea . Worth for the money .
The food is really good however, the service isn't consistent. Some times we'll get a great server but for the most part the service is horrible. Not sure if it's part of their training or what. Nonetheless, the food was great and consistently good. The bread is amazing and the ambiance is great. I miss when they used to have real candles on the tables but I understand the reason for the change. We got the chicken parmesan and linguine alla scampi.
Split a couple starters. Arancini and Fried Mozzarella bites were both crispy and good. The Burrata Tartufo though was very delicious, creamy, and truffle flavor was great. For my main I got the Spaghetti Carbonara which was pretty solid, sauced well and had a good amount of meat. We also split the Quattro Formaggi pizza which was fine. We balled the hell out on desserts. Tiramisu was okay and couldve been soaked more. The Tortino was so good with a bunch of different layers. But the Hazelnut Cake was out of this world. So rich I was like zayum.
