From the moment I showed up in pain I was yelled at by security to move bc there was traffic unknown to him that I could not move below the waist. He then got mad that he had to get a wheelchair for me saying I did not know you needed one. Well the first thing he said was move. Next was the intake nurse male names Christopher was the most rudist inhospitable nurse I encounter next. I was in extreme pain and had my is in my bag he was like well get it. It was difficult for me to move and when I turned to see him I caught him rolling his eyes and aighing bc I again wasn't moving fast enough from him. Literally had tears in my eyes and there was no empathy at all. I felt embarrassed being hurt but what toos it off? After seeing him I wait in the patient waiting area and it's been hours after telling them that I can't feel my legs my lower back hurts I'm having pelvic spasms and they told me I had a fever. I guess since I'm not bleeding from a gun shot no one takes it serious and to top it off a Hispanic nurse came over and told me to get out of the chair and go sit over across in the lobby and I told her why she had another Hispanic lady in crutches. I told her if I need it when they call me what am I supposed to do she said well ask for one then. There was other people that had the wheel hair besides me. So when she wills me over to the regular chairs I have a hard time getting up and her and the male nurse do not assist me. Once I'm out the sit she gives it to the woman in clutches and pars her back and prove to tell her she's got it in Spanish like I don't understand. I can't believe this at all and the male in the photo is Christopher btw. And the woman is Marie. Just saw a older white man tell Christopher that his urine bag was leaking and Chris nodded and walked off without saying a word. What kind of circus.

On Friday, 3/7/26 I arrive around 8pm into Ben Taub ER and realized bentaub emergency room has improved dramatically! And I truly believe The nurse and her crew ( Chad) on duty tonight from 8pm is fabulous and has love for humanity. I truly believe this great cause of the dramatically improvement is due to nurses and their crew as well. This crew that night were heros in action. She work with empathy and love. Not once did I see her sit until it slow for a minute or two then she was on the move again. She was making sure patient were being admitted, vital were taken, she delt with EMS and all who came into the ER. She and her crew made sure the patients were admitted and seen in adequate amount of time. I didn't get her name because I was ill and wasn't thinking well. I do have a picture of her and wish I could download so she could get recognition. Thank you for hiring nurses and staff such as them. Marnita

I know when you first get there you are overwhelmed with other patients who have been waiting or your in so much pain. I drove my self to the ER and waited about an hr + to see a doctor. I got my vitals checked and even threw up because of the pain I was having (I think I was crying too because of the pain). They eventually took me to a room I shared with another patient. I was in pain and there were people before me, so I understand why it took so long. Around 11 ish I think (again the pain was horrible) I got diagnosed and was waiting for the gynocology team to see me and treat me. Mean while, my nurse Effi was amazing. She made sure I had medicine for the pain and she explained everything to me. Finally around 2ish p.m., they said I needed surgery and I was on a waiting list. Again, as long as the medicine worked I was ok waiting. My surgery doctor's, anesthesia, and nurses were all amazing young people. I felt safe and was glad that they were going to take care of me. So overall, the time from when I checked in to when I left was 19 hrs. So thank you everyone at Ben Top who deals with people like me, and people not like me. I know when you're in pain it feels like forever, but they really are doing their best to treat us. Oh and right before surgery, I felt like I was in a k-pop hospital show, when just the anesthesiologist showed up. They were handsome and really nice❤️ and the Louisiana one too❤️ They informed me about the good and bad reactions of the anesthesia. Anyways. That was my experience.

First off I'm saying the ER is a nightmare the wait is a nightmare. However once I got seen and was actually put in a room which did take quite some time, the nurses upstairs were phenomenal, the doctors/ Urologist were phenomenal. I know the ER folks have a lot going on but, a little nicer appearance of caring would be better than the current behavior i witnessed. There are group of gals who sit around that little desk down there and really seem to do nothing and have a look on their face like they even want to be there. The ladies down there, didn't want this job and they don't want to help people, even if in appearance,they shouldn't be there. They make people more uncomfortable by looking at them like they're crazy when they ask for help or any general question and you're the first group of people that an ER visitor sees. They all look at each other, three of them usually, they look at each other like, oh I don't know I don't know, we'll get to knowing ladies or at least pretend. Something like that is not a good first impression on any establishment, especially when folks are there to get help and are down. I'm very observant I know names and I have them all. But because of the care I received once I left the ER area, I will let those 3 names slide from that desk are inside the ER doors. Done preaching! Lol The food was actually very tasty and nutritious. The nurses on C3 were absolute angels. Maybe some of the girls downstairs can learn from some of the girls upstairs. Thank you again Ben Taub nurses, doctors, urologist and anesthesiologist teams I appreciate it and am truly grateful 🙏🏻

Amazing staff at this hospital. I came here for my first surgery and everyone made me feel so comfortable and at ease. There were several staff that introduced themselves before my surgery and let me know what their role is and were all so kind. Every interaction from the beginning, the consultation, the surgery, the followup was a great experience. Thank you everyone at Ben Taub!
