This is a wonderful family place to fence from children to vets. They offer classes and one-on-one lessons. Their fencers are always going to tournaments, Pam Am Games, World Cups and North American Cups and Championships. They are an accessible facility and can teach people that are in wheelchairs. I love this place and the people that call it their home away from home. Go for a visit you won't be sorry.
If you are a child or an adult and have any interest in learning how to fence, Southwest Florida Fencing Academy is just the best! Not only is the entire coaching staff (Charles, Bianca, Robert, Eli and more) amazing, but the atmosphere in the club for young fencers is particularly unique and wonderful. From Halloween and Tea parties to Friday Game nights, Bianca and the entire club go out of their way to make every fencer's experience the best.
I am so hooked!!! What a fun, challenging sport that I never even thought about until I came with a friend several years ago for a few lessons and never looked back. It was easy to begin with a very small investment, the ability to use club equipment till you get you feet wet & are sure it is for you. The other members are fun, interesting people who make the whole experience even better. It is the perfect way to be in a zone and forget all your worries. Come give it a try!
My wife contacted the fencing club to make sure I would be able to continue my scheduled fencing training while I was on vacation in Fort Myers. Charlie Johnson and his wife were very hospitable and were nice enough to make sure that I would be able to fence with as many club members of all ages. Several members even invited my wife and I to join them for dinner at a charming restaurant. This club sure knows how to treat a stranger to the club as if he were a part of the family. The fencer were exceptional and very understanding with a veteran fencer such as me. Every fencing club should be as welcoming!
Started fencing online with Coach Charles at SWFFA during the Covid epidemic. I've been fencing there in person when they opened the studio. It has everything I've been seeking: fun, challenging exercise at reasonable cost, students of all ages (I'm at the upper end, lol), great coaches, Charles, Bianca, Michael, Robert & others who instill students with a sense of honor and fairplay. I've met many terrific friends here. The moment you step inside, you're made to feel special.
