Overall this is fantastic hotel. The staff couldn't be kinder and when traveling alone, the elevator's security feature making guests scan their room card before being allowed to select a floor offers peace of mind. My room was very clean and a nice size; the only things I wish are that every room have a mini fridge (mine did not) and one complimentary bottle of water. There's a beverage vending machine on each floor where you can buy water for $2.50 and water bottles in the room for $6 each, but given how nice the rest of the hotel is, it seems like those things would be a given. Despite those things though, highly recommend!
This Hyatt is a great location . But you pay for parking in addition to a pricey room. The rooms are spacious towels and beds are lovely. Cleaning staff exceptional But can't say the same for the staff who maintain the rooms, peeling paint, curtains that do not close all the way, no refrigerator but a cooler that didn't work. Mediorce at best. Sadly disappointing for a Hyatt.
We fined at the Hotel’s Restaurant The Roost for dinner and breakfast and it was delicious. My stripping grits were delicious. My salad was delicious and so was the steak delicious. Although I must admit doing breakfast time, this was the first time I ever saw raw salmon with onions and capers I’m used to the salmon being smoked. I got the room with the panoramic view, but all of the Furniture legs were in need of being repainted. Maybe my room was flooded before I’m not sure but I did love my room despite the furniture mishap and the cheap toilet paper. Also, the coffee shop gave me old coffee and not friendly staff. But I will definitely go again to this hotel because it is so beautiful and it’s located downtown so I had a great shopping time.
It’s a Hyatt regency so there is a certain level of hospitality that is expected and I felt like I received it. The location is great. Right on Main Street. Everything within a 15 minute walk. The interior is dated but it’s well maintained. I loved the large window wall in the lobby. The coffee shop in the lobby is also convenient. My room was nice. The bed was comfortable. The towels were soft. I’d request a room with a view looking outside. Some of the rooms have views into the lobby which I would not like.
After multiple visits, Rafael at the desk continues to professional, helpful, and accommodating. This hotel is clearly an older facility that has had attempts made to bring it up to date, with some details that haven’t quite come through. AC in the rooms almost keeps up. Digital key (through the app) hasn’t been functional at any of our visits. On site restaurant (Roost) and grab-and-go cafe (Meeting Grounds) are both generally good. The location is perfect for accessing downtown Greenville on foot. As with other Regency locations, it definitely is catered to the business traveler or conference guests- no complaints there, just an observation. We’ll definitely be back again. The staff here has been nothing but great to us, and is clearly doing their best with the facilities they have.
