Had a wonderful dinner at this Italian restaurant. The food was delicious and the service and dtaff were AMAZING. We had wings, ceasar salad, pizza and chicken dish and everything was yummy. The desert (chocolate cake) was delicious as well. They even removed the tiramisu from our bill because they saw that we didnt eat much (because of the coffee). Such a nice gesture. I definitely recommend
We visited the restaurant on a Thursday early evening without a reservation. Plenty sitting. Food is good. Wine selection is also good. Super friendly and attentive staff makes up all the imperfects.
I dined at Osso & Kristalla yesterday evening after wanting to try it for quite some time. The restaurant has a very cool ambiance online, and their website highlights some appealing daily specials, so we decided to go for what was listed as their Tuesday Pastalaya night. We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated promptly when we arrived. The restaurant only had a couple of occupied tables at that time. We were placed in the middle section at a table with hard wooden chairs, and we asked if we could instead sit at one of the two-top tables along the wall, since those had cushioned bench seating and more comfortable chairs. The hostess told us no, because those tables were reserved for the 7:00 reservations. That explanation didn’t make much sense to us since we had an earlier reservation, so we asked her why we would not be able to have 1st choice of tables due to our earlier reservation. She stated those were specific for 7pm reservations only so since our reservation was earlier than 7, we couldn't sit there. When our waiter came over, he was fantastic from the start. He took our drink order and was very friendly. We mentioned again that we would prefer one of the cushioned tables, and he kindly said it would be no problem and started to move us to a booth in his section. Unfortunately, the hostess came back and stopped that as well, saying all the booth tables were reserved for 7:00, even through there was one couple already sitting at a booth table and it wasn't 7pm. The waiter also was a bit confused and when pressing her on the logic of what she was saying, she stated the waiter doesn't know anything about the reservations so he isn't aware that all the tables are reserved for 7pm. She offered us a booth seat in the bar area instead, so we accepted that. It wasn’t where we wanted to sit, but at least it was comfortable. We really liked out waiter so we asked him if he could wait on us in the bar but we understood if he couldn't. At first, he said he would not be able to, but then he came back and said he would still take care of us. That was a really nice gesture, especially since he had to come over from the other side of the restaurant to do it. He truly helped turn the evening around and made the experience much better. One of the main reasons we came was for the Pastalaya, which is still listed on their website as the Tuesday featured special. However, they no longer serve it. It has apparently been replaced with Spaghetti Pescatore, a seafood pasta, which didn’t appeal to us, so we ordered from the regular menu instead. They really need to keep their website updated. We ordered the strawberry spinach salad, which was fine—pretty standard. We also had the chicken penne pesto, which was light and enjoyable, and the roasted salmon. I don’t eat farm-raised salmon, so I specifically asked whether it was wild or farmed, and the waiter said it was wild. When it arrived, I questioned that based on the color, although it could have been Chinook. Either way, it tasted good, so hopefully it truly was wild. The drinks were also very good, especially the lemon martini. Overall, the food and drinks were enjoyable, and our waiter was excellent. The biggest issue was the hostess and the unnecessary difficulty over seating. It was very frustrating to have a 6:30 reservation and be told that seemingly every comfortable table in the restaurant was reserved for 7:00. What made it even more disappointing is that when we left a little after 8:00, it appears all the 7pm reservations didn't show because almost every booth that we were not allowed to sit at was empty. I even took a photo because the situation was so odd. There were more people in the bar than the restaurant which makes me wonder if that was under the direction of the hostess reserving the empty seats for the imaginary guests. I would consider coming back for the food, drinks, and service from the waitstaff, but the hostess interaction definitely put a damper on the experience. Better training and more reasonable seating flexibility would go a long way.
Food was 4 out of 10. Severely disappointed, especially since it was Valentine’s Day…and the place wasn’t even full. Place looked nice and modern. Unfortunately, the server kept forgetting things. I would just go somewhere else. You can find better food elsewhere.
Have you ever taken the first bite of a steak and made you close your eyes and go mmmmm.... Had to remind myself that I was with a large group of co-workers. I had their Thursday special - Cajun Grilled Ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and broccolini. The price was fair, but the portion was more than good. The seasoning of the steak was perfection and cooked at medium temperature. The mashed potatoes did not come bland or just salted. They had their own buttery and garlic flavor that made it perfect to eat all by itself. The Broccolini was a new friend to my taste buds. I know they had mixed them with some sort of sauce or cooked alongside the steak, but it was nice and tasty. I should say that I'm not a veggie person, but the broccolini was a great compliment to the steak. They do have lunch specials at a lower price. I was just feeling a little extra for lunch this day. Atmosphere was pleasant and airy. I was there on a Thursday, not sure how it is on weekends or evenings. They have seating outside. The staff was good and attentive. I am coming back for sure. I need to try their desserts next time I go.
