Cataract on Paterson exceeded our expectations for a night out for dinner in Launceston. Notably extensive menu to choose from in a welcoming family friendly atmosphere. Highlight was the Pork Belly, crunchy crackling with excellent roast vegtables and yummy sauce! Probably the best wait staff I have come across. All were friendly, polite, and provided the perfect amount of service without being intrusive. They even wrote a "happy travels" message in chocolate on our dessert as we had mentioned we were in town on holidays. Such a heart nice unexpected way to end the meal. Highly reccommend!

Very fresh and delicious oysters, a great selection of wines, and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy quality food and drinks. Highly recommended!

First time visiting Launceston and thought we would try here for a special occasion meal, we left very impressed. The service was fantastic, we immediately noticed that the noise level was moderate, so was easy enough to talk between people without yelling, the food came out really quickly considering it was quite busy. We had the croquettes to start, following with a parma, and the scotch fillet with the Seafood topper on the side. Food was absolutely delish! Will be returning when we come back to Launceston.

aunty was nice and wanted to give us bread during long wait but i rejected it, seafood platter was very fresh and delicious definitely worth trying, pork ribs were tender but can be marinated better, place crowded - many cars were parked along the road. one tip is that 2 seafood platters and 1 pork ribs without bread is more than enough for 4 people. definitely worth coming back again:)

Genuinely the best thing I’ve eaten since I’ve been in Tasmania. The barramundi special was so good I had to be physically restrained so I didn’t lick the plate, and I had to go to a mental asylum afterwards to process the beauty I had just tasted. And the value for money was amazing. The atmosphere is wonderful too, high end but not pretentious. Playful, but not lacking class. I will definitely be raving about this place forever.
