This company is dishonest and untrustworthy. They failed to service my system the one time I needed help and gave me a run around on the phone for over 2 weeks. They said I needed to mail them pictures of the systems so I did, numerous times and ways and they said they never got them. The reason that I know they are LIARS or their own E-mail system is to blame is because I sent those same E-mails - CC'd them to my work E-mail which is for a corporation that does classified work and has the best security and of curse they arrived no problem and I was able to open them, se, them, read them and clearly see the attached pictures of the system. I was patient for the first 4 or 5 phone calls but when they lied to me this last time and still refused to service the system I informed them that per my contract I do not have to do ANYTHING to maintain the system and they are 100% responsible and since they refuse to maintain it and it does not work any longer I will find a reputable solar company and have their trash removed from my house and replaced with a working system. I have all the proof of this documented and I also have the original contract which was with another company they bought out. So, if we go to court, they will lose. Honestly, it would have been much easier and cheaper for them to simply repair my system but now I'll get a new and better system and they wont get anything from me. 20 July 2026 I received the attached "Response from the owner" 2 weeks ago. They keep saying they have received ALL of my many E-mails but there are no photos attached even though those same E-mails were CC'd to my work and personal E-mail accounts and they are clearly visible with the photos attached. Spruce Power Customer service is getting ALL of the E-mails WITTH the photos is attached. Today I sent them 5 more E-mails with their service address and with my home E-mail and work E-mail. I opened those 5 e-mails and the photos are clearly visible in all of them from both my home and work addresses. So I have ample proof that MANY E-mails have been sent with the photos attached and that the photos are in fact on the e-mails. I also sent a 6th and final E-mail with this message today. You were just sent 5 more individual E-mails with the photos attached. Those 5 E-mails were CC'd to my home and work E-mail and the photos are attached and clearly visible in the E-mails. This is the 5th time I have sent the photos and I have proof that the photos are in fact attached and visible to ALL of those E-mails. If the service is not provided immediately I will be pursuing this issue through the court system with these many E-mails as evidence. I am not obligated to provide ANY of this information to receive service for my system by my contract but you are obligated to provide maintenance for my system by that same contract or I can have the entire system removed and replaced for breach of contract, and I will. So this is simply to provide evidence in court. I am not obligated to provide them anything for service by my contract and they can easily provide the service without the photos - even though they have been clearly given the photos MANY times. The photos are attached to this message. I have done my part. If they don't send service immediately I will pursue the matter in court and have their system removed for breach of contract.
To Spruce Management and Executive Teams, I would like to extend my EXTREME gratitude for allowing your service team to come onsite to my home, troubleshoot and identify the issues, then supply and perform the repairs, bringing my solar system back online and producing power again. I have never met a more sincere group of technicians that truly showed empathy and concern for a customer like Daniel, Melvin and Peter did. In my opinion, these three went above and beyond just showing up and doing their jobs. They went the extra mile to ensure that I, the customer, was well taken care of. That I understood the issues and fully resolved the issues. To Daniel, Melvin and Peter, THANK YOU. THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
This review is for Spruce Power as a company, not the individual customer reps I spoke with. I recognize they are limited by the company's broken internal processes. I want to say that I don't like leaving negative reviews based on a single bad experience, but this is based on a pattern of egregious support that I believe borders on a breach of contract. I want to echo what many other reviewers have stated regarding the complete lack of email responsiveness, missing follow-ups, and an entirely unreasonable timeline to resolve critical issues. We have been trying to resolve a hardware failure for weeks with no end in sight. Also, don't bother emailing their "Customer Advocacy" team. I reached out to them almost 2 weeks ago and still have not received a single reply. If you are a potential customer considering this company, please do your research and be fully informed. We did not have a choice in the matter, as we purchased our home with this contract already attached. While Spruce Power might be able to handle a simple billing issue, the moment your actual solar hardware fails, good luck getting it fixed in a reasonable timeframe. They will endlessly bounce you from rep to rep, telling you to wait a week, only for you to call back and hear the exact same script. All the while, your system is down and you are stuck incurring massive utility bills. To Management: Do better. Whoever is managing your third-party installers process needs to figure out a better, more efficient workflow. If your team cannot handle this logistically on the back end, you should allow your customers to contact an approved list of installers directly and expense the costs back to you.
Every time I've called before I talk with representatives who are limited in their ability to answer my questions. Yesterday I spoke with Everett, and he was able to guide me through the process of re-establishing a connection to the customer portal, as well as navigating the less than intuitive path to find historical billing information. Everett is the only person I've ever spoken with who sounded like he thoroughly understood all aspects of the business. Great service, thank you.
Spruce Power has been one of the most frustrating companies I’ve dealt with. I paid them to remove my solar panels for a roof replacement. After my new roof was completed, I paid the remaining balance on June 4 for reinstallation. Weeks later, my solar panels are still sitting in my backyard. Every call results in the same response: “Someone will call you back.” No one ever does. Meanwhile: • Wehave lost weeks of solar production. • Large solar panels have been left in my backyard, creating a safety hazard for children and my dog got cut because of protruding equipments. • There has been no communication, no schedule, and no accountability. They have taken all the money and now gone silent. I’ve written multiple emails but no response. They need to resolve this immediately before I pursue formal legal action and consumer complaints. I tried reaching to their CEO Chris Hayes on LinkedIn and X but there also no response. I guess it is the culture. I am now stuck with the solar panels lying in the open in my backyard. No production, dangerous conditions for children and pet and theft. #Solar #CustomerService #ConsumerRights #SolarEnergy #SprucePower Spruce Power Chris Hayes
