She is the best in the business 👩🏽💼! I’ve had the pleasure of being referred to Ms. Gibson by the VA after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm. I lost several skills in communication in both written, verbal, and mental processing. Ms.Gibson was able to pick up on my deficits immediately and sprung into action, addressing my needs. I highly recommend her. She has brought balance to my life, helping me to communicate and navigate everyday life. Her provided service is vital to helping me maintain and keep my independence! I’m able to advocate for myself and express my needs effectively. She is a blessing to my life, an exceptional GEM, and I will forever be grateful for the services that help shape my life today and for years to come.
I highly recommend The Speech and Voice Center of Houston for your speech and voice therapy. The staff is friendly, caring, patient, and courteous. They worked with me. I was diagnosed with right vocal cord paralysis in 2023 because of the complications I sustained from my thyroidectomies. Thus, I came to this facility when I could barely speak. Even to call my husband honey, caused me severe throat pain, and I could hardly say the word. My voice was very hoarse, and I basically spoke in a whisper. Talking was very difficult. I had severe throat pain at rest as well as during talking. Shulonda, Kennedy, and Marcella worked with me from the get-go. Shulonda placed me on an intense voice therapy. She was very understanding of my condition, inabilities, and failures. Not one time was she judgement of my slow progress and the amount of time it took me to make a simple sentence or complete the exercises. She was always patient, listened to me, and constantly checked on how my throat muscles were responding to the exercises. She was more than flexible in adjusting my therapy based on how well my muscles were responding to the therapy. Thank you, Shulonda, Kenney, and Marcella for the care I received in your Speech and Voice Center of Houston. Oh, thank you for the amazing Vocal Freedom app too.
