Everglades Wonder Gardens is a charming Old Florida nature spot in the heart of Bonita Springs. It’s easy to visit, not overwhelming, and especially nice for families, children or guests who want a relaxed outing away from the beach for a few hours. I keep it on my personal Bonita Springs favorites list and often recommend it to vacation guests who enjoy nature, wildlife and a little local history.

What a wonderful surprise! Absolutely beautiful. A smaller animal sanctuary with beautiful greenery and animals. Not busy and chaotic like most zoos. Its a great mini stop on your journey!!!!

Had a fun day at Wonder Gardens. Great place for little kids. Lots of alligators and birds to see. Lots of natural wildlife, running around as well. It’s not really a full day activity, maybe a couple hours at the most you could walk the whole park in less than an hour if you want price was a little bit high in my opinion.

On January 23, 2026, we visited this intimate, lush park, which is perfect for all ages and young children, offering easy, uncrowded trails, photogenic flamingos, and various reptiles. It takes about two hours to explore the exotic bird exhibits, rehab area, and, alligator/tortoise habitats. The facility has clean bathrooms and an outside plant shop, parking is very limited; arriving before 10 AM or after 12:30 PM is recommended. Scenic, relaxing, and educational with diverse flora and fauna. Plan for a 2-hour leisurely visit; consider timing to manage difficult parking (small lot).Excellent for nature lovers and families looking for a unique, accessible spot. While it was a "one-and-done" visit for me, I highly recommend this, especially if you can utilize free reciprocal admission.

The wonder of this place was in wondering where all the animals were. I understand going through upgrades and remodels but people should be told what to expect and then let them decide of they want to go in. The Cockatoo was funny laughing at everyone and the African Grey seemed to like people. The McCaw seemed to have anxiety problems. Poor birdy. It's a good place of you like plants and have small kids to be able to get through quickly.
